There is nothing special about me. I am just an ordinary person! For me, participating in the ABC study is an easy way to help others.

When the call came out for study participants I thought "why not?".

Like most people my age, I have a number of friends and family who have been affected by one of the many forms of cancer. My mother survived breast cancer, a close friend recently died after seven years battling multiple myeloma. Involvement in studies and donating helps to reduce the impact of cancer on those affected by it. 

We all hope never to be personally impacted by cancer. But in some way or other we all will be. My involvement in the study and through donating is motivated by a desire to personally avoid cancer, but also to help others avoid it.
