This information provides details for those taking part in the ABC Study.
Learn more about what was included in the initial data collection phase of the study.
The ABC Study will follow the health of participants over many years to see whether genetic makeup, lifestyle and environment affect the development of diseases. To do this, with your permission, we will periodically access health related information about you. The sources of the information will include:
- Cancer Registry records in your state, the Australian Cancer Database and the National Death Index.
- Hospital records and other health databases, both public and private.
The study has been approved by, and is overseen by, Cancer Council Victoria’s Human Research Ethics Committee. Cancer Council Victoria strictly adheres to confidentiality and privacy legislation.
