Follow-up One
From early 2019, participants who completed the study in 2014 and 2015 will asked to complete two online questionnaires:
- Your Health and Activities: questions about body size, smoking, diabetes, sun exposure and daily activities.
- Beverages: questions about non-alcoholic drinks (cola, coffee and tea, etc.) and alcohol consumption.
Those who completed the study in 2016 and later will be invited on a rolling basis from approximately late 2019 to 2020 and beyond (allowing for approximately 4 years from baseline data collection.)
Participants will be invited by email to participate in follow - up. Please
let us know if your contact details change so we can keep in touch.
Passive Follow Up
Periodically, information about you may be collected by Cancer Council Victoria from your records held by various service providers for the purposes of the ABC Study. We also collect information about you from other organisations to update and verify our records without needing to contact you too often.
Obtaining this information will help us to know about your ongoing health status. With your consent organisations we may contact include:
- Hospital records.
- The Cancer Registry in your state, the Australian Cancer Database and the National Death Index.
- The Australian Electoral Commission.
- Other health databases, both public and private.
