Participant highlight - David and Sue, Thorpedale, VIC
David participated in the ABC Study after encouragement from his wife, Sue, who took part in 2016. Both David’s sister-in-law and brother were diagnosed with cancer, as was Sue’s best friend. They also know several people in their small, tightly-knit community who have been affected by the disease.

What information do we get from the DNA sample?
The ABC Study’s ultimate goal is to develop models of cancer risk based on a person’s genetic information. We hope to use this information to develop future prevention and screening strategies, and more effective treatments.
